Tulbagh is a town located in a basin in the Cape Winelands, surrounded by beautiful mountains. It was once inhabited by the Khoi ('bushmen') people and developed into an established town about 300 years ago when Dutch settlers were granted land, Tulbagh remains a relatively natural environment where one can see baboons, bat-eared foxes, lynxes, and smaller species of antelope, as well as a wide range of indigenous plants. Tulbagh is an attraction for those who want to experience the Tulbagh Wine Route, nature and outdoor activities.
