Pilanesberg Travel Information & Tours

The Pilanesberg National Park is located in the North West Province of South Africa. Pilanesberg borders Sun City, which is one of the highest rated holiday resorts in South Africa.

The 'Pilanesberg Alkaline Ring Complex' is the park's primary geological feature and is the crater of a long extinct volcano - the largest volcanic complexes of its type in the world. Another notable attraction is the remnants of the people who existed here during the Iron and Stone Ages.

Several lodges are situated within the park, while for the day visitors there are several stops on the inside such as bars and gift shops.

The park has a rich array of southern African wildlife including the Big Five (elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard, lion), giraffe, hippo, zebra, crocodiles and many bird species.
