Whale Watching Knysna Garden Route

Whale Watching Knysna Garden Route

Join an exhilarating game of hide and seek as you traverse the Garden Route coastline in search of the migratory giants, humpback, and southern right whales.

Get up close and personal with the majestic giants that inhabit our vast and pristine Indian Ocean. These migratory mammals, Southern Right and Humpback Whales grace South Africa with their presence from June to November annually, showing off their acrobatic skills while nurturing their young.

These close encounter, boat-based whale watching tours, and marine eco-tours are perfect activities to add to any itinerary in Knysna. There are three daily departures to choose from and a fleet of ocean going vessels. This is the ideal experience for local visitors and international tourists.

Approaching a whale requires incredible skill and understanding of the behaviour of these gentle giants. The skippers are well aware of the strict guidelines set in place by the permit and respect that they are in the whale’s domain.

Daily departures at 09h30 | 12h00 | 15h00
