This place is a cyclist's dream, offering fantastic riding whether you prefer paved roads or off-road trails. Recent infrastructure improvements, including new and resurfaced roads, make it even better. These smooth, well-maintained roads wind through breathtaking mountain landscapes and follow pristine river valleys, offering long stretches of uninterrupted riding. A unique aspect is the almost complete absence of motorized traffic outside of the larger towns. You're more likely to encounter horses, donkeys, and goats than cars, and it's possible to ride for hours without seeing another vehicle.

While many roads have been modernized, a vast network of unpaved roads and trails remains, offering diverse conditions and challenges for off-road cyclists.

Outside of the Maseru area, traffic is minimal. When you do encounter a local vehicle, drivers are often friendly and courteous, signaling and yielding to cyclists.

Speed limits, particularly in towns and villages, can be quite low. It's advisable to respect these limits in populated areas, as local residents may not anticipate fast-moving cyclists. On more open roads, higher speed limits are posted, but with so little traffic, they are often not strictly observed.
