South Africa boasts over 960 species of birds (approximately 10% of global species), with close to 30 endemic species in the Western Cape and the Garden Route.

Tours for all levels of birders are offered in the Garden Route. Whether you are a beginner birder, a birder chasing a tick list, or in search of a great image, there is a guided bird tour to suit your needs.

The guides have over 15 years of guiding experience in the Garden Route and 7 years of avifaunal studies in the region, and are able to locate the best seasonal locations for spectacular bird photography.

Example Itinerary:

Lakes Loop: A standard itinerary based between Sedgefield and Wilderness in the Garden Route, this tour is ideal for birders with a limited time budget in the Garden Route. Visiting two bird hides and two forest trails, this tour offers a broad spectrum of the birding available in the Garden Route with wetland, waterfowl, pastoral, fynbos, riverine, and forest species. The tour runs from sunrise and finishes at 11h30. Afternoon tours can be arranged as well.
