Monday - Day 1

Today you will be going on a full day Addo Elephant Park Day tour and safari. You will be picked up at about 9am at your accommodation and will return at about 6pm in the evening. Addo Elephant National Park is home to the 'Big 5' (African Lion, African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard) and one of the densest Elephant populations in the world. Addo offers unrivalled biodiversity and a magnificent game viewing experience in a Malaria free environment. You will spend a full day exploring the 3rd largest National Park in South Africa with our expert guides!

Elephant experiences on a 7 day garden route tour

Interesting facts: The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants remained in the area. Today this  finely-tuned ecosystem is home to one of the densest elephant populations on earth, with over 600 elephant, lion, buffalo, the endangered black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.
This tour is conducted in a closed minibus.
Accommodation: Dorm accommodation
Includes: Full Day Addo Tour
Excludes: All other meals not stated above

Tuesday - Day 2

You will have an early start with us today as we pick you up in Port Elizabeth at about 08h00 and drive you to your next destination, Storms River. You will arrive at about 10h30. After settling in and exploring the marvelous surroundings, we are ready for our first activity (optional) starting at 14h00. You will take a short walk to your activity, a Segway Forest Tour. Included in the 1-hour Segway tour is a 15-20 minute training session on the training course. After the training, you will take a journey through the quaint Stormsriver Village and follow one of a selection of routes among cool pine forest, indigenous forest, or even explore the historical Witteklip bridge or the local township.

After you're done with the tour, you can take a leisurely stroll to the hub of the village where you can enjoy some of the best milkshakes (or warm beverages) on the Garden Route at Marilyn’s Diner – a 1960’s-style restaurant that is definitely worth a visit. Be sure to take a few photos with the memorabilia at the restaurant! For dinner, there are a few options to explore in the village. You can also check the meal options for the evening at your accommodation and socialise with the other guests while

Wednesday - Day 3

Have a good breakfast and be ready for action by 09h00, when you start with a half-day Black River Water Tubing experience (optional activity). Blackwater Tubing is the ultimate adventure experience that derives its name from the color of the Storms river water. The 'black water' color is caused by tannin leaching out of plant matter, much like tea. The Storms River water is palatable but its PH is too low to sustain any significant aquatic life, resulting in a clear Rocky River bed lined by grass and majestic Tsitsikamma trees.Only Blackwater Tubing participants have access to the remote and picturesque areas through which the groups traverse.

You will journey down the old Storms River Pass and experience the indigenous forest from the comfort of a specially designed vehicle. Follow the elephant trail, passing yellowwoods and stinkwoods while hearing about the history of the area and the indigenous flora and fauna. Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea with confectionary at a beautiful picnic site next to the Storms River, where wagons outspanned more than a century ago. Thereafter, you will return to the village and take a 5 min stroll to your accommodation.
