DAY 1: KIGALI
Upon arrival of your night flight at Kigali International airport, you'll receive a warm meet and greet by our passionate representative outside customs and immigration hall. Proceed to Kigali Marriot Hotel. If time permits, there will be tour briefing at the lobby. Check in assistance and overnight stay.

DAY 2: KIGALI/ NYUNGWE (Kings Palace & Ethnographic Museum) 
After an early breakfast at your hotel, you'll check out and drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, where the largest montane forest is found in East and Central Africa.

Nyungwe Forest - 6 Day Remarkable Rwanda Tour

Highlight: The heart of Nyungwe Forest is like a scene from a fairy tale with tall, old mahoganies, ebonies and giant tree ferns tower above you, while orchids and other epiphytes cling to every branch. Brightly colored birds flit around; butterflies are everywhere, including a variety of primates for which Nyungwe National Park is renowned.
En route, we will briefly stop at Nyanza to visit the Ethnographic Museum in the town of Butare. The Ethnographic Museum is one of the six museums that make up the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda. This Museum was built in 1987, and now houses one of Africa's finest ethnographic collections. Meet the ladies of Ingoma Nshya for a drumming performance.

Lunch will be at Ibis Restaurant. Continue drive to Nyungwe. Arrive at 16h30 for check in. Evening at leisure to relax. Delicious dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 03: NYUNGWE (CHIMPANZEE TREKKING)
Today at 05h00 you will get your packed breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trek briefing and formalities and then to the evergreen forest for a great experience that starts at 06h00. You may spot a wide variety of bird life. The chimpanzees' playfulness and human-like characteristics make the long day worthwhile - you may even be welcomed by chimp morning calls deep in the forest upon encountering the chimps. You'll stay in their presence for one hour as you enjoy their acrobats, feeding life and their day to day behaviors.

Return to the lodge at around 12h00 for lunch. The afternoon will be at leisure to rest from the long walk and also participate in other activities within the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 04: NYUNGWE (CANOPY WALK/TRADITIONAL TEA CEREMONY)
Breakfast at the lodge and transfer to park headquarters for canopy walk briefing that takes place at 10h00. Your guided canopy walk will start at 11h00. Return to the lodge in time for a late lunch.

Nyungwe Canopy Walk - 6 Day Remarkable Rwanda Tour

Highlight: Hanging 60 meters above the forest floor between giant trees and towers, East Africa's only Canopy Walkway provides a stunning view of the park's amazing wildlife and nature. The Walkway is accessible as part of a specialized guided tour along the Igishigishigi trail or if you're not part of a tour, hiking the Imbaraga or Umuyove trails.
Return to the lodge in time for lunch. This evening, you will participate in a traditional tea making ceremony at the lodge. Have a sumptuous a la carte dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 5: NYUNGWE MUSANZE (45 MINUTE SCENIC HELICOPTER FLIGHT) GORILLA TREK 
Wake up bright and early to enjoy breakfast. Afterwards, you'll fly to Musanze & Volcanoes National Park. You'll be met by our driver guide and transferred to park headquarters. You will be briefed on Gorilla trekking before transfer to the trail head for your guided walk.

Cantsbee Silverback Gorilla in Rwanda

Highlight: The largest gorilla group or family ever studied is in Rwanda and was led by a gorilla named Cantsbee (see above image) who passed away in 2017. This was the oldest known mountain gorilla in the whole world. A gorilla family is led by a silverback. These troops also include several younger males, adult and juvenile females and infants. In addition to providing protection to group members, silverbacks maintain order and decide all activities within their troop. They schedule feeding trips, resting time, and travel. They also father the majority of the young in the group.

After this memorable experience, you will proceed to Five Volcanoes Hotel for lunch and cleaning of boots. Transfer back to Ruhengeri airstrip for your helicopter flight to Nyungwe, departing at 15h00. Arrive at 15h45 and proceed to the lodge for the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 06: NYUNGWE KIGALI (45 minutes helicopter flight) DEPART

Have breakfast at the lodge and morning at leisure. Have lunch at the lodge. Later, check out. Transfer to the lodge helipad for your helicopter flight to Kigali, departing at 15h45. Arrive at 16h30 and transit. Check in for your outbound flight.

Important Information

Passenger information: In case of non-availability, we may have to reroute and provide alternative accommodation at lodges of similar category. Passengers should bring only soft sided bags on safaris as our vehicles have limited luggage space. All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them throughout their travel.
Terms of cancellation: The parties involved shall agree the specific terms of cancellation on each case. Under the Rwanda Legislation, the Hotels and Caterers can legally levy the following cancellation charges:
60-46 days prior to arrival: No charge, room release
45-14 days prior to arrival: 10%
14-07 days prior to arrival: 25%
07-03 days prior to arrival: 50%
03 days-to no show : 100% 

Force Majeur Circumstances: In case either party suffers force majeur circumstances (that are unforeseen, inevitable and uncontrollable), such as strikes, closing of frontiers, ports and airports, bad weather, delays in departures and arrivals of the means of transportation, accidents and all services provided by a third Party, as a result of which the obligations under the present agreement cannot be fulfilled the parties shall be exonerated from their obligations without having to pay compensation for the damage caused to the other party.
