Set on a working wine farm, Melkboomsdrift Guesthouse offers you 4-star luxury in superior accommodation situated in a tranquil rural environment with magnificent views of the vineyards and Olifants River flowing through the farm.

Melkboomsdrift Guesthouse is an ideal stopover for your guests who travel to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and Namibia, exactly halfway to Upington and halfway to the Namibian border which makes this your ideal place to stay over for a good night’s rest.

Conveniently situated on the R363 between Vredendal and Lutzville, Melkboomsdrift Guesthouse is the ideal base for day trips to spectacular displays of Namaqualand flowers in August, September, and October. Stay for 3 days or more and visit the following areas depending on the weather of the day:

- Circle route from Melkboomdrift Guesthouse. Turn left on the N7 to Nuwerus and follow the flower route via Garies to Skilpad Nature reserve in Kamieskroon and Goegap Nature reserve in Springbok.

The next day you can go to Nieuwoudtville (Bulb capital). First stop in Vanrhynsdorp at the Succulent Nursery, from there go up the mountain pass, with a breathtaking view, to Nieuwoudtville (After spending some time in town take the road through town heading for Clanwilliam and visit Matjiesfontein padstal (14km out of town) on the dirt road that takes you to the R364. From there the road takes you over Pakhuispass and through the Biedouw Valley.

The final day you can do a West Coast Flower trip (also with 2 wine Cellars) through Strandfontein to Doringbaai and follow the Sishen Railway dirt road to the famous Muisbosskerm outdoor restaurant outside Lambert's Bay. The Wine Tasting circle route takes you through Vredendal, Klawer, and Lutzville with a total of 10 Wine Cellars.

Before taking to the road enjoy a scrumptious breakfast. Return in the afternoon for a cocktail at the pool or on the veranda overlooking the river, vineyards, and garden.

For dinner, indulge your senses by having a bottle of wine with your country cuisine meal. Experience The Kitchen Eatery where you can enjoy traditional "roosterkoek" with a twist. How about a Roosterkoek Benedict? The menu is changed up daily to ensure that only the freshest ingredients are used. Most of the greens used at The Kitchen Eatery come from the gardens on the property and are freshly harvested every day.
