Experience the faunal event of the year as millions of sardines prepare for their northward migration, setting the place for a predatory feast. Experience the Sardine Run, Wild Coast, South Africa, either beneath the waves or above, either way, there is plenty to see as whales, sharks, dolphins, birds and many other amazing creatures partake. 

Your sardine run experience includes 5 full days at sea on a rib boat, 2 meals per day and snacks on the boat, 6 nights of shared accommodation, a dedicated microlight pilot to put the group in action with a VHF radio, air fills, cylinder, and weight belt (if diving). 

The Sardine Run, during this time of the year, the Humpback whales migrate up the coast and can be spotted daily, moving in pairs or small family groups. Southern Right whales can also be seen occasionally, but it is the Brydes whales that get involved with the sardines and it’s an incredible spectacle to witness a Brydes whale engulfing a bait ball in a single mouthful.

During the Sardine Run, an annual sea safari, with, Bottle-nosed Dolphins, the shy Humpbacked Dolphins near the shore. Humpback, Southern Right and Brydes Whales. and occasionally Orcas.

Bull, Bronze whaler, Reef sharks and occasionally Great White Sharks. Aside from the Cape Gannets, several other bird species have been spotted: African Penguins, Cormorants, Yellow-nosed Indian Albatross, and Sub-Antarctic Skuas to name a few.
